Deployment of "Opta" computer The giant has its expectations regarding the teams that will finish the league stage of the Champions League tournament in the first eight places in the standings, thus ensuring direct passage to the round of 16.

 

The newspaper “Marca” revealed: The Spanish newspaper on Thursday reported Opta’s predictions for the first places, which came as follows:

In first place, Arsenal is heading to be the best team in the league stage, with an expectation of obtaining a percentage of 20.26%, which puts it at the top of the ranking, and coach Mikel Arteta’s team appears to be the most solid team on the continent and combines defensive solidity and offensive power.

In second place, Bayern Munich comes with a percentage of 19.38% and remains the giant. Bayern, led by its coach Vincent Kompany, is always present in the final stages of the tournament thanks to its previous experience and the capabilities of its English striker, Harry Kane.

As for third and fourth place, respectively, Manchester City comes with a rate of 17.97%, and Liverpool with a rate of 17.16%. The performance of the two teams is classified as stable, despite their being slightly behind the three main teams nominated to win the tournament. 

And in fifth place, comes FC Italian Inter Milan, with a percentage of 16.96%, and in sixth place, the defending champion comes with a percentage of 16.58%, and remains among the candidates to win the championship, despite the defeat against Bayern Munich at home and the injury of three of its stars, Ousmane Dembélé, Douai and Ashraf.

In seventh place, Real Madrid comes with a percentage of 16.01%, and in eighth and final place comes Newcastle United with a percentage 14.89%. As for FC Barcelona, ​​it will occupy ninth place with a percentage of 14.69%, thus losing the opportunity to directly qualify for the next round of the tournament.

According to the new tournament system, the tournament is played in the first round in a round-robin format and consists of 36 teams, with the first eight places in the league stage qualifying for the eighth-finals.

As for the teams from ninth to 24th place, they will play round-trip elimination matches against each other to determine the other eight teams that complete the eighth-final contract. The teams ranked 25th to 36th will be eliminated directly from the tournament.
