Syria foiled two plots to assassinate President Ahmed Al-Sharaa

Two senior officials revealed that Syria thwarted two separate plots by ISIS to assassinate President Ahmed al-Sharaa, which adds a personal dimension to al-Sharaa’s plans to join a US-led coalition to fight the terrorist organization with which it has been facing confrontations for a long time.

According to Reuters, the two sources, an official from the Middle East and a Syrian security official, said that the two plots targeting Sharaa were foiled during the past few months, which confirms the direct threat to the Syrian president.
