The Paris Court of Appeal decides to release Sarkozy and place him under judicial supervision

On Sunday, the Paris Court of Appeal approved the request for the early release of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who has been detained since October 21 in a prison in Paris, after a petition submitted by his lawyers.
Sarkozy will be released and placed under judicial supervision, according to the court’s decision, according to what was reported by the Associated Press.
Sarkozy has been detained in La Sonnet prison in Paris for 21 days, after being sentenced to 5 years in prison, in the case of “Libyan financing” of his presidential campaign.
Sarkozy, 70 years old, became the first former French president in modern history to be imprisoned, after his conviction on September 25.
The former president, who ruled France from 2007 to 2012, denies any wrongdoing and says he is the victim of a “conspiracy” linked to the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi.
