Conclusion of the third annual diabetes and endocrinology conference in Abu Dhabi

ABU DHABI, 10 November / WAM / The third annual Diabetes and Endocrinology Conference, organized by the Imperial College London Diabetes and Endocrinology Center and the HealthPlus Diabetes and Endocrinology Center of the M42 Group, concluded yesterday in Abu Dhabi, in an event that brought together more than 1,000 experts and healthcare professionals from 7 countries, to exchange experiences and promote excellence in the care of diabetes and endocrine patients.

Dr. Mai Al Jaber, CEO of Outpatient Clinics at M42, confirmed that the annual Diabetes and Endocrinology Conference, which is held in partnership with Imperial College London, has become a pivotal platform for shaping the future of diabetes and endocrine care, noting that it provides health sector workers with access to the latest clinical evidence and emerging technologies, and provides opportunities for constructive cooperation, which contributes to improving patient outcomes, enhancing innovation and education, and achieving a sustainable impact in diabetes and endocrine management.

For his part, Professor Amir Sam, Chairman of the Conference and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College London, stressed that the event embodies the power of shared expertise and multidisciplinary cooperation in advancing diabetes and endocrine treatments, explaining that bringing together the most prominent minds from around the world under one umbrella enables the transformation of advanced research into tangible clinical effects, and building a unified global community that seeks to improve patient care through innovation and continuous education.

The conference combined clinical precision and practical application through a two-day scientific program. The first day focused on the practical management of diabetes, including sessions on fundamental changes in the treatment of type 2 diabetes, new approaches to treating obesity, and developments in diabetic retinopathy.

The second day focused on the most prominent themes of endocrinology, and reviewed the concepts of precision medicine in diabetes treatment, genetics, polycystic ovary syndrome, and bone health, and highlighted the growing influence of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data-based decisions in customizing endocrine and metabolic care.

On the occasion of Diabetes Awareness Month, M42 Group and its health network will continue to support the community through a series of public health initiatives, including the annual Diabetes Walk scheduled to be held in Zayed Sports City on November 23. The group called on the public to participate and join medical personnel in spreading awareness and encouraging healthy and active lifestyles, and supporting efforts aimed at reducing the effects of diabetes in the UAE.
