The Arab League organizes a workshop on cultural diplomacy as a strategic force

Today, the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States organized a high-level workshop on “Cultural Diplomacy in the Era of Change: Challenges and Opportunities in Light of Global Changes” at the headquarters of the General Secretariat.
The workshop was held with the qualitative participation of members of the permanent delegations accredited to the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States, along with an elite group of experts and academics specializing in diplomatic and cultural affairs.
This workshop comes As a culmination of the growing interest in the role of soft power in shaping foreign policies, and an affirmation that culture represents an essential foundation for common security and international understanding.
The workshop was opened with the presence and participation of Ambassador Mohammed Al-Orabi, former Minister of Foreign Affairs. This reflects the strategic importance that Arab countries attach to employing their cultural and creative heritage.
The workshop addressed main axes focusing on: the theoretical and conceptual rooting of cultural diplomacy, where the concept is addressed in its modern dimension as a tool capable of achieving national goals and building bridges of trust and mutual understanding. Valuable interventions are presented that include examining the role of culture in international organizations and the issue of dialogue among civilizations. Dr. Rania Abdel Latif also provides in-depth insights into these axes and analyzes The concept and modern analyzes of it, and the challenges of the current situation and their impact on the tools of cultural representation.
The participants also discussed the grave challenges imposed by global political, economic and technological changes on the mechanisms of cultural representation and reviewed the necessary components for the diplomatic and cultural representative to be able to communicate effectively and effectively in light of these changes and emphasized the necessity of investing in the intangible elements of power, and employing the cultural heritage as an irresistible tool in strengthening the position of Arab countries in the international arena.
