A Turkish military cargo plane with 20 people on board crashed in Georgia

The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced on Tuesday that a military cargo plane with 20 people on board crashed over the border between Georgia and Azerbaijan while returning to the country.

She indicated that the C-130 plane took off from Azerbaijan to return to the country, and was transporting 20 people, including crew members, stressing that search and rescue operations are underway.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerli Kaya confirmed that his Georgian counterpart, Giladze, is on his way to the accident site.

The Georgian Interior Ministry confirmed in a statement that a “Turkish military plane” heading to Turkey had crashed, noting that it fell “about five kilometers from the Georgian border” with Azerbaijan.
