The volume of new energy vehicle production and sales in China increased during the first 10 months
BEIJING, 12 NOVEMBER/WAM/ The new energy vehicle sector in China recorded strong growth in production and sales during the first 10 months of 2025, according to data issued yesterday by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
The data showed that the volume of production of new energy vehicles increased by 33.1% on an annual basis to approximately 13.02 million units during the aforementioned period, and the volume of sales during the same period increased by 32.7% on an annual basis to reach more than 12.94 million units, representing 46.7% of the total sales of new vehicles in the country.
The association said that China’s automobile market maintained a strong growth trend during last October, as the new energy vehicle market grew rapidly and automobile exports showed resilience.
During last October alone, the volume of sales of new energy vehicles reached nearly 1.72 million units, accounting for more than half of the total new vehicle sales in the country.
The total volume of car production reached 27.69 million units during the first 10 months, recording an increase of 13.2 percent year-on-year, while sales volume grew by 12.4 percent to approach 27.69 million units.
The data also showed that China’s automobile exports rose by 15.7% on an annual basis, reaching 5.62 million units during the aforementioned period. Exports of new energy vehicles increased by 90.4% year on year to reach 2.01 million units.
