The Minister of Culture visits "Freej Art and Design" In Qatar, he praises the Gulf creative movement


Doha, November 12, 2017 – His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Culture, visited the activities of the second edition of the Freej Art and Design Festival at Darb Al Saai in the Qatari capital, Doha, as part of strengthening cultural relations between the two brotherly countries.
His Excellency, accompanied by His Excellency Sheikh Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatari Minister of Culture, toured the festival’s sections and pavilions, during which he was briefed on the latest artistic creations and innovative designs, in addition to a number of accompanying events and activities, praising the efforts made to make the festival a platform that celebrates creativity and supports young talents in various fields of visual arts and design.
His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qasimi stressed that the cultural relations between the UAE and the State of Qatar are witnessing continuous cooperation in the fields of arts, heritage and creativity, which reflects the commitment of the two countries to supporting the Gulf cultural movement and enhancing its position globally, noting that such festivals contribute to the sustainability of the artistic movement in the region.
It is worth noting that the Freej Art and Design Festival, which continues until November 14, is considered one of the most prominent artistic platforms in the region, with more than 120 artists from 21 countries participating in its second edition, in addition to a group of artistic and interactive workshops and performances that showcase trends in contemporary art and design.
