Trump calls on the Israeli president to pardon Netanyahu

Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s office said on Wednesday that Herzog received a letter from US President Donald Trump, urging him to consider granting a pardon to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The letter stated, “With my absolute respect for the independence of the Israeli judicial system and its requirements, I believe that this ‘case’ against Bibi (Netanyahu), who has fought alongside me for a long time, including against Iran, is a political and unjustified prosecution.”
