Declared Qatar Airways operates direct flights between Doha and Hail starting January 5, 2026, with 3 flights per week, with the follow-up and interest of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Emir of the Hail Region and Chairman of the Region Development Authority, in a step that reflects the region’s growing position on the Gulf air transport map.
This announcement comes within the objectives of the aviation program that are compatible with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, in addition to the result of joint cooperation between Qatar Airways and the Hail Region Development Authority, Al Thani Airports, Airports Holding Company, and the Air Connectivity Program come together as part of complementary efforts aimed at enhancing air connectivity between Gulf cities and supporting economic and tourism development in the north of the Kingdom.
Receiving direct flights by Qatar Airways to Hail is a practical implementation of the directives of the Emir of the region that he announced during the Hail Investment Forum 2025, aiming to establish Hail as a regional logistics center and a major air transport hub in the north of the Kingdom, in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s vision. 2030 in diversifying the economy and enhancing the movement of investment and tourism.

His Highness said: "We are moving with confident steps towards achieving the aspirations of the leadership and the nation’s ambitious vision 2030, to make Hail a destination connected to the world and an engine for development in northern Saudi Arabia."
Enhancing air connectivity
The CEO of the Hail Region Development Authority, Omar bin Abdullah Al Abdul Jabbar, explained that this comes thanks to the directives and support of the Emir of the region, the follow-up of his deputy, and the cooperation of partners from the Second Airports Cluster, Airports Holding Company, the air connectivity program, and Qatar Airways, indicating that the new line will represent a qualitative boost in enhancing air connectivity, facilitating passenger movement, and supporting the logistical and development plans that the region is witnessing.
He pointed out that this development reflects Hail’s growing status as a major hub in the regional air transport system, and confirms its progress towards achieving its vision of being a promising region linking the north to future horizons.
170 destinations in the world
Qatar Airways Group CEO Eng. Badr Mohammed Al Meer said that adding the city of Hail to Qatar Airways’ global network of destinations is new evidence of the company’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for its world-class services from travelers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He pointed out that the city of Hail, which is the company’s thirteenth destination in the Kingdom, offers distinctive cultural and historical experiences, and with this launch, passengers will be able to reach more than 170 destinations in the world through Hamad International Airport in Doha, which previously won the Best Airport in the Middle East award.
