Zelensky visits Ukrainian forces in the Zaporizhya region, southeast of the country

The Ukrainian President announced Volodymyr Zelensky today, Thursday, that he visited his soldiers stationed in the Zaporizhzhya region, in the southeast of the country, where Russia says it has been making recent progress.
Zelensky said on the Telegram website "I discussed with the military the necessary decisions To strengthen defenses in the Orekiv region, which was the starting point for the unsuccessful Ukrainian counterattack in 2023"
Zelensky added that he heard a report on the status of operations in this region, enemy movements, and losses among the ranks of the occupation.
Corruption in the energy sector
The announcement of this visit comes in light of a corruption scandal in The energy sector led to the resignation of two government ministers, and to sanctions imposed by Zelensky on one of his close associates.
Although the Zaporizhya Front is less heated than the Eastern Front, where the fighting is now concentrated, the Russian army announced in recent days the expansion of its control there. Before that, each party had been in its positions for two years.
On the Eastern Front, the battles were concentrated around Pokrovsk, which constituted a strategic node. Hundreds of Russian soldiers have managed to infiltrate there in recent weeks, weakening Ukrainian defenses.
