Soprano Amira Selim opens the Echo of the Pyramids Festival with the chant of Isis

The international Egyptian soprano Amira Selim is preparing to perform a huge concert at the foot of the pyramids, on the evening of Tuesday, November 25th. The Pharaonic woman sings it in the ancient Egyptian language in a charming operatic style, in a revival of the famous hymn that was etched in the hearts of the Egyptians when it was first performed at the Mummies Parade celebration four years ago. Social media called for her to return to singing the song live, especially after her absence from the artistic participation in the opening ceremony of the Grand Egyptian Museum. The Lebanese Abeer Nehme, the maestro Hani Farhat, and the great musician Omar Khairat. And Germany, and represented Egypt in prominent international events, including the World Climate Conference, in addition to her participation in important cultural celebrations in Paris, Alexandria, and the National Museum of Civilization.

 

Amira Selim is famous for her distinctive voice that blends Egyptian heritage and contemporary identity, her interest in reviving heritage works in multiple languages, and her support of young talents through specialized artistic workshops.
