The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi launches a portal to monitor the state of the environment using artificial intelligence techniques

ABU DHABI, 15 NOVEMBER/WAM/ The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi launched the electronic portal for monitoring the state of the environment using artificial intelligence techniques (ADSOEP), during the thirtieth Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP30), which is being held in Brazil this November.
This is the first achievement of its kind in the world in the field of environmental reporting and monitoring.
The portal for monitoring the state of the environment in Abu Dhabi represents an important step towards the future, thanks to the use of artificial intelligence techniques and large linguistic models to automatically analyze data from sensors and research reports, which allows the prediction of key environmental indicators and the generation of immediate results and visualizations, in a faster and more accurate process that maintains the highest standards of transparency and quality.
Her Excellency Dr. Sheikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of the Authority, said that the launch of the portal for monitoring the state of the environment in Abu Dhabi represents a qualitative leap in our mission towards improving the quality of life, as the platform enhanced with artificial intelligence provides clear, immediate environmental information that supports making the necessary decisions to proactively protect our precious ecosystems, ensuring the preservation of our natural heritage for future generations. It is also an inspiring achievement in the field of environmental monitoring and control that enhances Abu Dhabi’s global leadership position in environmental work. Innovation and sustainability.
The initiative is based on the Abu Dhabi State of the Environment report published in February 2025. Preparing the report represented a vital source of data on more than 1,000 key performance indicators according to four main areas, including air, water resources, land, and biodiversity. However, the process of preparing the comprehensive report took a long time and required significant human and financial resources.
Ahmed Baharoun, Executive Director of the Environmental Information, Science and Awareness Sector at the Authority, said that the Abu Dhabi Environmental State Monitoring Portal uses the latest artificial intelligence tools to transform complex environmental data into more accurate insights and visualizations. Through automated data collection, intelligent analysis, and predictive models, we can better understand environmental changes, which supports making the right decisions quickly and effectively.
The State of the Environment platform works through several features developed in cooperation with strategic partners, namely E&Enterprise and the Accord Business Group, to include automating key performance indicators to enhance transparency, generating content from reports and recommendations immediately, to enhance operational efficiency and save time, in addition to incorporating specialized expert review to ensure continuous human supervision, with the aim of providing accuracy of information and suitability of analyzes and periodic reports, in addition to its compatibility with international frameworks, including the framework The global DAPSI(W)R(M) enables decision makers to interact with real-time data via easy-to-use dashboards supported by large language models, natural language processing techniques and predictive analytics, making it a new global model for environmental monitoring.
