المملكة: Within 9 minutes…a Libyan pilgrim was saved from a severe heart attack in Mecca
King Abdullah Medical City, a member of the Hajj season.
The Makkah Al-Mukarramah Health Assembly explained that the case came to a hospital near the Holy Mosque suffering from symptoms of an acute heart attack. Immediately, the heart attack pathway was activated in coordination with King Abdullah Medical City, and the case was directed directly to the mobile catheterization laboratory in the Holy Mosque Emergency Hospital, which contributed to accelerating access to specialized cardiac care and reducing the time for therapeutic intervention.
Stabilization of the condition
The assembly indicated that the medical team began Immediately upon the arrival of the case, an advanced therapeutic cardiac catheterization was performed, and in just 9 minutes, he was able to open the main artery causing the clot and successfully restore blood flow, in addition to treating another artery that was suffering from severe constriction exceeding 90%.
He stated that the condition stabilized after urgent medical intervention, and the pilgrim left the hospital after completing the necessary medical follow-up, to resume performing his rituals in good health.
This success reflects the advanced level of operational readiness of the health system in Mecca, the efficiency of specialized medical personnel, and the integration between health facilities in providing specialized care to the guests of God around the clock.
