The “Peace Council” headed by Trump…the most prominent axes of the American plan to stop the war in Gaza

Diplomatic efforts continue to support the American plan aimed at stopping the war in the Gaza Strip. In the latest chapter of these endeavors, the United States of America, along with the UAE, Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, called on the Security Council to “accelerate” the adoption of a draft American resolution that supports the implementation of President Donald Trump’s peace plan in Gaza.

“Peace Council”

The US draft resolution, scheduled to be discussed in the Security Council on Monday, focuses on three main axes in Trump’s “peace plan,” most notably the establishment of the “Peace Council,” a transitional governing body for Gaza that Trump will theoretically chair, and whose mandate will continue until the end of 2027. According to the detailed plan published by the White House on September 29, the Gaza Strip is subject to temporary transitional rule by a technocratic, non-political Palestinian committee that will manage day-to-day public services and affairs. Municipalities for Gaza residents.

This committee consists of qualified Palestinians and international experts, under the supervision of a new international transitional body called the “Peace Council,” headed by President Donald Trump, and with the participation of other heads of state who will be announced later, including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

This body is scheduled to establish the general framework for the reconstruction and financing of Gaza, until the Palestinian Authority completes its reform program and is able to regain control of the Strip safely and effectively.

“An international stabilizing force”

The US draft resolution authorizes member states to form a “temporary international stabilization force” that will work to contribute to securing the border areas and disarming the Gaza Strip. This force represents the long-term internal security solution, according to Trump’s comprehensive plan to end the war in Gaza.

“Establishment of a Palestinian state”

In a remarkable development, the current resolution indicates the possibility of establishing a future Palestinian state, which Trump’s plan linked to the progress of the reconstruction process of the Gaza Strip and the completion of the Palestinian Authority’s reform program, as they are two basic conditions for a reliable path leading to Palestinian self-determination and the establishment of a Palestinian state, which Washington recognizes as a legitimate ambition of the Palestinian people, according to the White House.
