Emirates Airlines provides free Starlink Wi-Fi service to all passengers

Emirates Airlines announced the start of implementing a comprehensive plan to install the Starlink high-speed Internet service on all aircraft in its fleet in service, starting in November 2025 on Boeing 777 aircraft, with the project being fully implemented by mid-2027. This free service provides passengers with an Internet connection at speeds comparable to the quality of terrestrial Internet at flight altitudes, which reinforces the carrier’s firm commitment to providing the best connectivity experiences in the global aviation sector.

The Starlink service will allow Emirates passengers to enjoy streaming content, electronic games, making calls, working, and browsing social media throughout the flight, on both seat screens and personal devices at the same time. This technological integration represents a quantum leap towards a fully connected experience in all classes of travel on Emirates Airlines.

Emirates Airlines intends to install Starlink technology on all aircraft in its fleet of 232 aircraft in service over the next two years, and the first aircraft, which holds the A6-EPF license from the Boeing 777-300ER, has already been equipped with the service, and is currently on display at the Dubai Air Show, where visitors can test the connection speed while it is on the ground.

Emirates’ first commercial flight equipped with Starlink service will take off immediately after the end of the exhibition, with the A6-EPF aircraft returning to operational service on November 23, marking the start of the expanded implementation of the plan. Emirates Airlines aims to equip 14 aircraft per month, with the service starting to be installed on the Airbus A380 fleet in February 2026.

The carrier will install two antennas on each Boeing 777 aircraft, and in a first of its kind in the aviation sector, it will install three antennas on each Airbus A380 aircraft, to ensure the best coverage and communication capacity across all classes of travel, and to enrich the customer experience. The service will also provide live television broadcasting via Starlink, initially on personal devices and then on seat screens, starting at the end of December 2025.

The Starlink Wi-Fi service will be completely free for all customers in all travel classes on aircraft equipped with the service, through direct access with one click without the need for any payments or membership in the Skywards program.

Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airlines, said: “Our partnership with Starlink represents a strategic milestone in our journey towards consolidating our global leadership in the air travel experience, and embodying our firm commitment to customers to travel with “perpetual excellence,” as today we raise the standards of communication on board to an unprecedented level, through the fastest Wi-Fi network in the world, so that seamless productivity, instant communication with family and friends, and constant connection to the digital world become an essential part of the travel experience with Emirates Airlines.
