I will do everything in my power to arrest Netanyahu if he enters New York

New York City’s mayor-elect, Zahran Mamdani, confirmed in an interview with ABC News that he would order the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he attends the United Nations General Assembly in the city next year, pledging to work “to find all possible legal means to implement international arrest warrants.”
Mamdani added, “I have repeatedly said that this is a city that applies international law, and this means that international law must be respected, including the arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court in The Hague. It does not matter if they are against Benjamin Netanyahu or Vladimir Putin, what is required is to show our values. Unlike Donald Trump, I work within the limits of existing law, and I do not invent my own laws. Therefore, I will do my best to respect these warrants.”
He said: “If Netanyahu enters New York and I do not do everything in my power to stop him, I will not consider myself the mayor of New York.” He said: “All possible legal means must be found to implement these arrest orders.”
