"Emirates Rooms" looking with "Korea room" Strengthening trade and investment cooperation

ABU DHABI, 19 NOVEMBER WAM / The Federation of Emirates Chambers discussed with the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, today in Abu Dhabi, ways to enhance trade and investment cooperation between the UAE and the Republic of South Korea, during a meeting between His Excellency Humaid Mohammed bin Salem, Secretary General of the Federation of Emirates Chambers, and Sol Myung-yeon, Vice President of the International Relations Department at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
In a press statement issued today, the Secretary-General of the Federation of Emirates Chambers stressed the interest of the Emirati private sector in consolidating trade relations with Korea, pointing to the growing role played by Korean companies at the current stage, especially through their participation in a number of major projects in the Emirates.
He explained that the UAE-Korea Business Council contributes to highlighting the opportunities and sectors available for cooperation, and supports efforts aimed at increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, pointing out that the available opportunities are promising in various sectors, especially in light of the capabilities that the UAE has to enhance investments in the public and private sectors.
The meeting discussed a number of practical initiatives that would support trade relations and expand investment flows between the two countries and review trade and investment opportunities in various sectors, in addition to discussing the agenda of the second joint business council scheduled to be held in Seoul next year.
For his part, Sol Myung-yeon confirmed that holding the first meeting of the Business Council in Abu Dhabi last September constituted an important step in the process of trade relations between the UAE and the Republic of Korea.
