المملكة: Humanitarian and relief… The Kingdom has implemented programs worth one billion and 250 million dollars for children


The world celebrates International Children’s Day on November 20 of each year, a day that embodies the international community’s commitment to its responsibilities towards children, and an affirmation of building a prosperous future that begins with caring for children and empowering them with their basic rights to education, health, and protection from violence and neglect, as stipulated in international conventions and norms.

The Center also provided more than (500) One million US dollars to protect 370 million children annually from polio, in a humanitarian initiative that is considered one of the largest global initiatives in this regard.

One of the most prominent Program "He heard Saudi Arabia"

In a message that carries hope for those children who have been deprived of the blessing of hearing, the center implemented a program "He heard Saudi Arabia" Volunteering for cochlear implantation and auditory rehabilitation for children in Tunisia, Syria, Turkey and Senegal, for Palestinian children in Jordan, and for Kenyan and Somali children. It is a qualitative project that is considered the largest volunteer humanitarian event for cochlear implantation and auditory rehabilitation in the world.

The Center also supervised the Saudi Program for Conjoined Twins, one of the most prominent qualitative achievements provided by the Centre, as (67) successful operations were performed on conjoined twins from (28) countries on (5) continents around the world, all of which were successful.

Food security for children

And in the field of The Center continues its giving process through (284) projects in food security for children, including the urgent intervention project for the children of Gaza by providing milk packages to those suffering from acute malnutrition in an urgent initiative that contributes to saving the lives of young people in one of the most suffering areas.

It is also implementing in Pakistan a project for life-saving nutritional support in emergency situations for children suffering from acute malnutrition, and (57,500) individuals among them benefit from the project. (30,444) children and (27,056) pregnant or breastfeeding women, in addition to another project in the same field for children in Pakistan benefiting (66,414) individuals.

Malnutrition prevention

The center in Somalia provided (1,068) metric tons of specialized nutritious food to support children under the age of two and pregnant and lactating women, in addition to providing malnutrition prevention services. For (122,847) children and (57,301) pregnant and breastfeeding women, in humanitarian efforts that preserve life during crises.

In the educational field, the Center paid great attention to providing educational opportunities in affected environments, as it implemented (53) educational projects dedicated to children, including a project to improve the educational environment for displaced children and the host community in Yemen, targeting more than (13,509) male and female students through the distribution of school supplies and school uniforms. Supporting basic education

The Center also implemented a project to support basic education in Burkina Faso to operate 6 government schools in the city of Ouagadougou for a full academic year, in addition to a project to distribute (9,000) educational bags equipped with stationery in the Federal Republic of Somalia, which benefited (9,000) students directly and (27,000) individuals indirectly from the displaced and most needy groups.

In the health field, the center provided (472) health projects for children, including urgent interventions for sick children, which included transporting them to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to receive the necessary treatment and perform surgical operations, then returning them safely to their homes without paying any financial costs.

Health care

It implemented a program to support children’s hospitals with specialized medical equipment to enhance emergency health care and intensive care capabilities in three hospitals in Hama Governorate and the pediatric cardiac surgery department in the city of Aleppo, to benefit from the project. (844,778) individuals.

The project was implemented to reduce child mortality by providing reproductive health services for pregnant women and girls in Somalia, in addition to the project to prevent the outbreak of measles and polio in the Republic of Somalia, the Republic of Sudan and the Republic of Iraq, from which (12,076,185) individuals benefited.

Combat epidemic outbreaks

The efforts extended to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Central Africa. And Guinea, Afghanistan and Pakistan, as 2,095,102 individuals benefited from projects to combat the spread of epidemics.

In this regard, we recall that the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Aid received the Family and Child-Friendly Institutions Award for the year 2024 presented by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States – Social Affairs Sector, Family and Childhood Administration, in appreciation of its efforts to support Palestinian children and families in conditions of occupation.

The Center is considered one of the most prominent supporters of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), as it contributes to financing health and nutrition programs for newborn children and their mothers, in addition to supporting the educational process to ensure its continuation in areas of crises and disasters.

The Center participates with the world in celebrating International Children’s Day out of its belief that building a human being begins from childhood and that their care and protection is a human right throughout the world without discrimination.
