Abu Dhabi"Grand slam" Judo activities begin with competitions" Light weight"

Abu Dhabi, November 21 / WAM / The Emirates Judo Federation confirmed that the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Championship will be held in light weight competitions next Friday.

He explained in a statement today that all technical and organizational arrangements and procedures have been completed for the launch of the tournament organized by the federation, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the Ruler in the Al Ain region, and under the supervision of the International Federation in the “Mubadala Arena” hall, in Abu Dhabi during the period from 27 to 30 November, with the participation of more than 400 male and female players from 53 countries.

The Federation indicated that registration for participation in the tournament will be closed when the draw ceremony begins in Abu Dhabi, next Thursday, with the participation of representatives of the participating teams.

Dr. Nasser Al-Tamimi, Secretary General of the Federation, Treasurer of the International Federation, and Tournament Director, said that all working committees are carrying out their assigned tasks to put in place all measures for receiving delegations and providing all requirements for participation, with the follow-up of His Excellency Mohammed bin Thaloub Al-Darai, President of the Federation and Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee.

He announced the arrival of the International Federation delegation, headed by His Excellency Marius Weiser, members of the Board of Directors and the Executive Office, and heads of sisterly and friendly delegations and participating teams, starting next Wednesday.

He pointed out that our national team continues its intensive preparation in its current camp in Abu Dhabi, as part of the technical staff’s plan, to reach the best levels of readiness in anticipation of the draw for the tournament, in addition to the Chinese team’s participation with 11 male and female players among its most prominent stars ranked on the international list.
