Jebel Ali Port records a record high in bulk shipments of 630,000 tons during October

Jebel Ali Port, the flagship port of the DP World group, recorded an exceptional performance in October 2025, after achieving a record breaking bulk cargo handling of 630,000 tons, the highest monthly handling total recorded in nearly two decades.

Although the past decade witnessed continuous growth in the handling of containers, bulk shipments (unwrapped or unpackaged cargo), bulk cargo shipments, and ro-ro cargo, the new record reflects the expansion of industrial and construction activities at the region level.

This increase in performance is due to major factors, most notably the noticeable increase in iron and steel imports allocated to major national projects in the UAE, such as the Dubai Metro Blue Line and the expansion of Al Maktoum International Airport, in addition to the growth in sugar exports.

Based on the strong performance during 2024, in which bulk cargo handling increased by 23% on an annual basis to reach 5.36 million metric tons, the new record confirms the continued strength of the industrial base in the UAE, in addition to consolidating its growing role in the global trade movement.
