A scientific conference in Dubai focusing on scientific communication between jurists and jurists

Under the patronage and presence of Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Imam Malik College of Sharia and Law organized the third international scientific conference under the title: “The Maliki doctrine and its impact on the legislation of the United Arab Emirates in light of contemporary needs and developments,” on the 24th and 25th of this November, with the participation of an elite group of senior researchers and specialists in the Sharia and legal sciences.

The conference aims to shed light on the role of Maliki jurisprudence as one of the main sources that contributed to shaping the legislative system in the UAE, by studying its impact on civil, criminal and personal status laws, in addition to reviewing its role in addressing emerging legislative issues related to technological and economic developments.

The audience was diverse at the international and regional levels, including professors of jurisprudence, Sharia, and law, leaders from Dubai Courts, the President of the University of Bahrain, the Vice President of Al-Azhar University, in addition to international consultants and speakers.

The conference addresses a number of scientific topics, including: personal status laws, civil, commercial and procedural laws, criminal legislation, and contemporary issues such as artificial intelligence and the Islamic economy.

The conference also seeks to enhance scientific communication between jurists and jurists, strengthen the link between UAE legislation and Sharia objectives, and provide practical recommendations to legislative and judicial authorities, in addition to supporting research initiatives that combine originality and modernity.
