30 international photographers reveal the aesthetics of Islamic arts in "Light beacons"


Sharjah, November 24, WAM / Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of the Cultural Affairs Department at the Department of Culture in Sharjah, Director of the Islamic Arts Festival, yesterday inaugurated the “Light Beacons” exhibition, which is being held in cooperation with the Emirates Photography Association, as part of the activities of the twenty-sixth session of the festival, in the Al Zahia Shopping Centre, in the presence of a group of international photographers, participating artists, and photography enthusiasts.
30 photographers from various countries of the world are participating in the exhibition, and it includes more than 30 photographic works that reveal the features of beauty in Islamic arts. The photographers were keen to highlight the festival’s slogan “Siraj” by employing light as a major element in constructing the artistic shot, recalling its effect in highlighting the decorations, lines and formations of Islamic architecture.
The audience viewed a group of works that present a renewed visual vision that rereads Islamic heritage through lenses, allowing the audience a contemplative journey that deepens the presence of Islamic beauty in visual memory.
Al-Qusair handed over certificates of appreciation to the winners of the exhibition competition to celebrate their victory, which resulted in the victory of: Mahlaqa Nematollah Darbian from Iran in first place, Heba Muwafaq Rayhan from Syria in second place, and Atef Mahmoud Shair from Egypt in third place.
