The Minister reviewed the features of the unprecedented industrial transformation that the Kingdom is witnessing within the framework of the objectives of the Saudi vision. 2030.

He explained that Saudi Arabia has issued thousands of new industrial licenses, attracted major international companies, and worked to expand areas of advanced industries such as renewable energy, smart manufacturing, and critical minerals.

He pointed out that these transformations outline the features of a new industrial landscape based on innovation, developing human competencies, and deepening international cooperation.

He added: "Our ambition is clear; To be one of the most attractive destinations for industrial and investment partnerships worldwide, ensuring that the impact of each development partnership is reflected positively and fairly across borders."

He pointed out that both the Kingdom and"UNIDO" They deal with industry as a path to economic diversification, enhancing flexibility, expanding horizons of social opportunities, and supporting environmental responsibility.

Empowering women and youth

The empowerment of women and youth in the Saudi industrial system received an important part of the minister’s speech. He pointed to the rapid increase in women’s participation in the labor market, while today they constitute more than a third of the national workforce, with their increasing presence in leadership positions within factories, industrial cities, and manufacturing centers.

He pointed out that the future of the industry will belong to those who have the ability to adapt, imagine and cooperate, and our youth today are the ones who are actually creating this future.

Al Khareef stressed that technology and sustainability represent two basic pillars of the future of industry in the Kingdom, pointing to the continued investments in the fields of artificial intelligence, automation, and digital manufacturing, in addition to the Kingdom’s adoption of the circular carbon economy model.

He said: "Technology and sustainability are not two parallel or opposing paths, but rather two complementary tools for building a productive, low-emission industrial base that is prepared for the requirements of the future."

Following the keynote speech, a number of ministers participated in a dialogue session organized by UNIDO entitled "Reshaping global value chains: investment paths for a new business era"

Global trade disruptions

During the session, the ministers discussed strategies for dealing with global trade disruptions, the role of artificial intelligence in enhancing the resilience of industrial sectors, and the importance of modernizing trade policies to support youth, women, and small and medium enterprises.

The session touched on lessons learned from the Gulf experience, including the importance of early industrial investment, developing the logistical infrastructure, and enhancing cross-border integration in value chains.

The minister concluded by stressing the Kingdom’s commitment to continuing cooperation with UNIDO and its partners. International.
