ABU DHABI, 11 JANUARY / WAM / Mohammed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar, said that the activities of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026 coincide with the twentieth anniversary of the founding of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company, Masdar, which has been hosting this global event since its launch in 2008 and has succeeded over two decades in consolidating its leadership and role as a reliable partner and major contributor to the renewable energy sector at the global level.

Al Ramahi added on the sidelines of the sixteenth session of the General Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), which kicked off in Abu Dhabi today, that Masdar is today one of the largest specialized and fastest-growing renewable energy companies in the world with a wide project portfolio extending to more than 40 countries, noting that the company has so far reached more than halfway towards achieving its goal of reaching a production capacity of 100 gigawatts by 2030.

Al Ramahi pointed out that Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2026 is being held under the slogan “An Integrated Start to the Future” in a session that is considered the largest since its launch, as it provides an opportunity for leaders of the energy, finance, food and water sectors to develop new solutions that support the interconnection between these sectors, expand the scope of their influence and enhance integration between them.

He explained that the week brings together leaders, experts and investors from various sectors to discuss the best ways to employ advanced technology, including artificial intelligence, to support flexibility and adaptation and achieve a tangible, wide-ranging impact.
