A storm hits the Australian state of Queensland, cutting off power to 150,000 homes

A strong storm hit the state of A number of homes were damaged after their roofs were uprooted.

The Australian Bureau of Meteorology indicated that severe storms are heading north, and it is likely that damaging winds and large hailstones will continue during the coming hours.
