Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights: Turnout is increasing… and industrial areas are entering the electoral scene

In the first hours of the second day of voting in the second phase of the 2025 House of Representatives elections, followers of the Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development monitored a state of increased voting activity in a wide number of constituencies.

 

 The polling stations witnessed an early presence of voters and factory workers in a scene that reflects the continued state of reassurance and confidence felt by citizens on the first day of the electoral process, in addition to the ability of campaigns to activate mobilization within rural areas. And labor.

 

Field follow-ups showed a clear difference in mobilization trends between rural and urban constituencies. In the villages and centers of the governorates of Sharqiya, Dakahlia, and Gharbia.

In Committee No. (58), Abdullah Al-Minshawi School for Basic Education in Gharbia, and Committee No. (47), King Al Kamel Secondary School in Sharqiya, and two committees No. (68-69)  One of them is in Damro Basic Education School, kindergarten – primary – Preparatory School, and the other Bshebish Combined Secondary School.

 

 Independents appeared strongly in the voter queues through the presence of families and their traditional symbols in a scene that reaffirmed the broad role of social relations in shaping voting orientation.

 

 On the other hand, party candidates emerged within the main cities of the Canal and Cairo governorates, where their campaigns relied on small, organized groups. To mobilize, it operates within specific scopes away from the practices of mass transportation of voters, although some limited cases were monitored within the areas of factories and companies in the Fifth Settlement, Shubra El Kheima, Quesna, and Mahalla El Kubra districts.

 

The voting committees also witnessed clear female participation in the various constituencies of the stage, while the Zagazig district recorded a different pattern of gender voting as a result of the multiplicity of female candidates in it, and Committee No. (16), at Al Hussein Preparatory School for Girls, and Committee No. (15), Sheikh Gharib School, and the presence of two female representatives from the current parliament among the competitors, which strengthened the emergence of the women’s voting bloc during the first hours.

 

In the same context, the industrial areas came during the first hours as an influential component in turnout rates, as the coalition monitored remarkable influxes of workers before the start of work shifts or during rest periods, and this was clearly evident in the vicinity of the committees near the 10th of Ramadan industrial area in Sharqia, And the industrial areas of Mostorod, Bahtim and Al-Obour in Qalyubia, the Quesna industrial zone in Menoufia, and the industrial zone in Mahalla El-Kubra in Gharbia.

 

The proximity of these committees to work sites contributed to recording remarkable electoral densities, which reflects the role of the labor bloc in the scene of the second phase.

The Egyptian Coalition for Human Rights and Development confirmed that its followers will continue to monitor the progress of the electoral process in the various governorates throughout the day, while documenting related observations. Through mobilization, propaganda, and organizational discipline before the committees, in preparation for issuing a comprehensive assessment with the closing of the polls this evening.
