The President of the State issues a federal decree granting Abdullah Ahmed Al Mandoos, Director of the National Center of Meteorology, “the rank of Minister”

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” issued a federal decree granting Dr. Abdullah Ahmed Al Mandoos the “rank of minister,” provided that this decree is effective from the date of its issuance and published in the Official Gazette.
Dr. Abdullah Ahmed Al Mandoos is considered one of the most prominent Emirati leaders in the meteorology sector at the regional and international levels. He holds the position of President of the World Meteorological Organization, in addition to his position as Director of the National Center of Meteorology.
He contributed to developing the work system in the country’s meteorological sector and strengthening its technical infrastructure, in a way that supports the accuracy of weather forecasts and enhances the country’s readiness to deal with climate change, in addition to supervising advanced national programs in the fields of rain enhancement science and weather modification.
He holds a doctorate degree in meteorology from the University of Belgrade, Serbia, a master’s degree in meteorology from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa, and a bachelor’s degree in meteorology from Saint Louis University, USA.
