The Red Cross stresses the need to protect affected civilians in conflict areas


The number of people living in conflict zones controlled by armed groups around the world has risen to 204 million people, according to The International Committee of the Red Cross.

The Committee explained that 74 million people live under the complete control of Armed groups, while 130 million live in areas over which armed groups and others dispute control, which raises concerns from a humanitarian standpoint.

She indicated that the committee maintains communication with the leaders of the groups; With the aim of negotiating access to those affected by conflicts, calling on all parties to conflicts to respect International humanitarian law, ensuring the protection of civilians for humanitarian purposes.
