Abu Dhabi Customs and"Central Board of Indirect Taxes" In India, they sign a cooperation document

Mumbai, 27 November / WAM / Abu Dhabi Customs and the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs in India signed a cooperation document to enhance innovation in facilitating bilateral trade, through digital transformation and data exchange, and the implementation of a pilot project for a reliable digital trade corridor, within the framework of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the UAE and India, and the Mutual Administrative Assistance Agreement in Customs Affairs.

His Excellency Ahmed Jassim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Department of Economic Development – Abu Dhabi, and His Excellency Dr. Abdel Nasser Jamal Al Shaali, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of India, witnessed the ceremony of announcing the document, which was signed by His Excellency Rashid Lahej Al Mansouri, Director General of Abu Dhabi Customs, and Shri Vimal Kumar Srivastava, Principal Commissioner of Mumbai Customs District, Region Two, following a high-level meeting held during the activities of the Abu Dhabi Investment Forum in Mumbai.

During the meeting, the two sides affirmed their joint commitment to supporting cross-border trade through digital transformation and reliable data exchange mechanisms, especially through the reliable digital trade corridor that aims to enhance efficiency, transparency and integration between the trade systems in the UAE and India.

Within this cooperation, the two sides are working to develop a joint framework and unified technical structure, in coordination with partners from the government and private sectors, with the aim of creating a practical, scalable model that allows the flow of digital trade operations based on data exchange and automation.

The two sides expressed their intention to benefit from the results of the pilot phase to develop a long-term and sustainable model for reliable digital trade corridors, which will strengthen the growing strategic partnership between the UAE and India, and support ongoing efforts to modernize and facilitate customs operations.
