Heritage activities and cultural celebrations in "Al Ain Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition"

Al Ain, 27 November / WAM / The first day of the activities of the first session of the Al Ain International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition witnessed the launch of the popular cooking competition, organized by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, in a festive atmosphere that reflects the authenticity of Emirati cuisine, in which five female contestants compete to present ancient Emirati dishes, in two sessions daily.

A specialized jury evaluated the dishes according to precise criteria that included flavour, appearance, preparation, creativity, and cleanliness. Shamma Al Kaabi won first place and a cash prize of three thousand dirhams, while the second and third place winners received two thousand dirhams, respectively.

The competition continues over five days, with daily prizes totaling 80,000 dirhams, a vivid highlight of the skill of Emirati chefs and their rich heritage.

Today also witnessed the “Al-Yola” competition, one of the most prominent Emirati folk arts that embodies the values ​​of equestrianism and national pride. The participants, who ranged in age from 14 to 17 years and wore the national costume, presented impressive performances in control and rotation, amid great interaction from the audience.

The competition continues until the closing day, with the opportunity to win cash prizes of up to five thousand dirhams.

Visitors to the exhibition enjoyed a range of distinctive cultural experiences throughout the day, as the “Al-Yalasa Tent” provided an authentic Emirati hospitality atmosphere in a traditional environment, while the “Al-Tabah Square” platform attracted the public’s attention through interactive activities aimed at enhancing awareness of this traditional sport.

These initiatives come within the framework of empowering young people and consolidating their role in preserving Emirati culture and promoting the values ​​of safety and community participation.

The main arena, “Arena,” also witnessed daily live performances that added a distinctive heritage character to the event. The Abu Dhabi Police musical band began the program by playing the Emirati national anthem, followed by a distinguished musical performance, before the police officers presented a security presentation during which they demonstrated their cooperation skills with police dog units (K9) in dealing with security situations.

The hunting and shooting sports weapons and equipment sector witnessed a remarkable presence from major manufacturers, who showcased the latest licensed hunting rifles, as well as ammunition and accessories intended for enthusiasts of this sport.

Visitors had the opportunity to have a unique experience through the shooting simulation event, which provided a virtual environment that simulates the atmosphere of real shooting, which added a fun, interactive character to the exhibition.
