“Yad Al Khair” launches an initiative to support 185 distressed rental cases

The “Hand of Good” Committee at the Rental Disputes Settlement Center in Dubai revealed a new initiative to support troubled cases in rental cases, coinciding with Union Day and the year 2026, which His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, directed to designate it as the “Year of the Family.”

The committee explained, in an interview with Emirates Today, that the initiative aims to help 185 distressed humanitarian cases from the inmate file with rental issues, noting that it is working under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him.

In detail, Judge Abdulaziz Anwahi, the first primary judge and head of the “Hand of Good” Committee at the Rental Disputes Center in Dubai, announced the launch of a new initiative to support defaulters, coinciding with Union Day and the year 2026, which His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, directed to designate it as the “Year of the Family.”

Anouhi pointed out that the initiative aims to help 185 distressed humanitarian cases from the inmate file with rental issues, in cooperation with a number of concerned parties and charitable institutions.

He explained that the “Hand of Good” Committee – under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai – may God protect him, has contributed to supporting a large number of beneficiary families since the beginning of the current year 2025, with a total of more than 300 families, which reflects the community’s confidence in the committee’s humanitarian role, and its constant keenness to support and stabilize families in the Emirate of Dubai. He stressed that the “Hand of Good” Committee, since its launch in 2017, represents… It is one of the most prominent humanitarian initiatives that embody the values of solidarity and giving in Emirati society, pointing out that the committee has intensified its efforts during the current year to support distressed families and ensure their social stability.

The Chairman of the “Hand of Good” Committee at the Rental Dispute Settlement Center in Dubai stressed that the committee is an inspiring model of institutional charitable work within the judicial framework, as it combines humanitarian duty and the spirit of justice in dealing with rental issues. He stressed that its work under the umbrella of the Rental Dispute Settlement Center in Dubai embodies the balance between legal fairness and social support, and indicated that the committee’s tasks are consistent with the vision of the “Year of Community 2025” and its slogan “Hand in Hand,” which directed His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, in a way that enhances the values of cohesion and cooperation as a basis for building a strong and prosperous society.

Anouhi pointed out that the committee was keen during the current year to establish strategic partnerships with a number of charitable institutions, recognizing the importance of integrating efforts between the government and private sectors in supporting community initiatives.

He stated that these partnerships contributed to expanding the scope of support and maximizing the social and economic impact, through cooperation with institutions, such as: Beit Al Khair Society, Tarahum Charitable Foundation, Dubai Islamic Bank, Endowments and Palace Fund Management Foundation, and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Charitable Foundation.

Anouhi stated that donations from individuals and institutions constitute an essential pillar in financing the committee’s work and initiatives, as they contribute to the sustainability of charitable projects, expanding the circle of beneficiaries, and spreading the culture of giving and social responsibility among members of society.

He added that the committee is currently considering launching new community support campaigns in cooperation with its partners and the media, to raise the level of awareness of its goals and encourage individual contributions, stressing that these campaigns are in line with the directives of His Highness the President of the State, designating 2026 as the “Year of the Family,” in a way that enhances its stability and deepens the values ​​of family cohesion.

Anwahi highlighted a number of humanitarian cases that highlighted the role of the committee, explaining that among them was the case of an inmate imprisoned in connection with a rental case, in which coordination was made with the judicial authorities, to pay the accumulated amounts, in order to preserve the stability of his family.

He also mentioned the case of a family consisting of a mother and two daughters, for whom a settlement was reached after confirming their entitlement, and the committee was responsible for paying the full amount due, to ensure their continued stability. He pointed out that the committee also supported a woman without a breadwinner facing a prison sentence because of rent, and she was helped to preserve the cohesion of her family.

Regarding the future vision of the “Yad Al Khair” Committee, Anwahi confirmed that it is working according to an institutional plan to develop its performance during the coming years by employing digital transformation techniques in case studies and managing requests, which contributes to raising the efficiency and quality of services.

He pointed out that the committee places among its priorities enhancing cooperation with government agencies and the private sector, in addition to launching awareness programs, to consolidate the culture of rental responsibility in society.

Anouhi said that working on the “Hand of Good” committee represents a profound human experience that embodies the concept of social justice, stressing that justice is not complete unless it balances truth and mercy. The law exists to protect rights, while mercy represents the essence and spirit of legislation in Dubai.
