The Governor of Cairo opens the 8th Egyptian Honey Festival with the participation of 60 exhibitors

Dr. Ibrahim Saber, Governor of Cairo, opened today, Thursday, the Eighth Egyptian Honey Festival in Freedom Park in Zamalek in the West Cairo district, which continues from November 27 to 30, with the participation of Major General Ibrahim Abdel Hadi, Deputy Governor for the Western Region, Mohamed Habib, Secretary General of the Arab Beekeepers Union, and a number of governorate leaders.

The Eighth Egyptian Honey Festival is held under the auspices of the Cairo Governorate, the Ministries of Industry, Agriculture, Environment, Investment and Foreign Trade, and the Unity Council. The Arab Economy and the Union of Arab Beekeepers.

 

60 exhibitors from various governorates of Egypt and Arab countries participate in the festival. The festival also includes outlets for selling honey products and its derivatives, natural oils, and dates. The Governor of Cairo confirmed that the executive bodies in the governorate provide full support for all initiatives that aim to develop industries and handicrafts, especially in the field of food, to provide food commodities to citizens at low prices and high quality. Pointing out that the festival aims to highlight development work. The honey industry in Egypt is putting it on the right track aimed at making Egyptian honey of its various types one of the most important products that can be expanded in export.

 

The festival focuses on the importance of healthy food, the benefits of honey, the importance of beekeeping in creating environmental balance, and how to start a small apiary project.

 

The festival also constitutes an excellent commercial platform for exchanging experiences, developing commercial relations and opening new horizons for marketing and export, as previous sessions witnessed an increase in the number of Participants and the diversity of products, which contributed to spreading the culture of honey and raising awareness of its quality.

 

The festival, in which Tunisia participates as guest of honor, is a forum that brings together beekeepers, producers, consumers and experts to learn about the latest technologies in the bee industry.

 

During his tour, the governor of Cairo reviewed beekeeping tools, manual and automatic honey packaging methods, and models of powered beehives. During the opening, the Governor of Cairo also met with students of one of the schools who attended the festival on a school awareness trip to learn about the importance of healthy food, the benefits of honey, the importance of beekeeping in creating environmental balance, and how to start a small apiary project.

 

The festival includes a comprehensive exhibition to taste and sell honey bee products from various governorates of Egypt, in addition to a specialized exhibition for selling beekeeping supplies, and the festival also offers discussion sessions. And specialized seminars led by a group of bee experts, in addition to competitions and the distribution of prizes to the public.
