After a complaint from her ex-husband’s family, the woman who had the most expensive divorce in Morocco was arrested

The Moroccan authorities arrested Sakina Benjelloun, known in the media as “the one with the most expensive divorce in Morocco,” in implementation of a court ruling issued against her after her ex-husband’s family filed a complaint on charges of defamation.

The sources said that the court relied on publications and statements attributed to it on social media sites that were considered offensive to the complainants, which led to a rapid judicial follow-up and the immediate implementation of the ruling, with a focus on digital evidence in the last session.

Benjelloun’s arrest comes as part of a recent wave of arrests that affected a number of content creators on similar charges, after the dispute between the two parties turned from a divorce case into an open legal confrontation over offensive digital content. (Russia Today)
