55.1% of the country’s workforce is young… and 97.3% of female citizens working in “private” jobs are skilled.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation revealed a remarkable increase in the percentage of the young workforce in the labor market in the Emirates, as the percentage reached 55.1% as of the third quarter of this year, which reflects the vitality of the market and its continued ability to attract young talent in various vital sectors, in addition to the fact that 97.3% of the total female citizens working in the private sector belong to the category of skilled women.
Labor Market Observatory data (reviewed by Emirates Today) showed that the percentage of young Emirati women (35 years and under) out of the total number of Emirati women working in the private sector amounted to 73.2%, a clear indication of the success of national programs in empowering young people and raising their participation in the labor market.
The UAE labor market continued its growth in the numbers of the workforce and establishments, driven by labor protection initiatives and increased mobility in the private sector. The workforce recorded an increase of 10.9% in 2024, while it rose by 8.9% until the end of the third quarter of 2025. The number of establishments also witnessed a strong growth of 14.9% during 2024, and continued to rise until the third quarter of 2025 by 6.6%, reflecting the vitality of the business environment in the country and the continuation of Its expansion at the economic and investment levels.
Statistics highlight a growing presence of women in the labor market, especially in skilled and specialized professions. The percentage of skilled workers reached 45.4% of the total female workforce, while the percentage of women among the total skilled workers in the country reached 29.9% during the third quarter of this year. The data also showed that 35.8% of establishments contributed to hiring women during the same period, an indication of the expansion of opportunities for women’s economic participation in the private sector.
Women have a strong presence in vital sectors, as of the third quarter of this year, as they occupy 66.4% of health professions jobs, and 72.3% of educational professions jobs, while the percentage of women working in information technology professions reached 37.9% of the total workers in this field.
The leadership performance of Emirati women is particularly notable, as they constitute 93.3% of citizens working in educational professions in the private sector until the third quarter of 2025, and 90.6% of citizens in health professions in the private sector, in addition to 60.5% of citizens working in the field of information technology.
As for the level of administrative and leadership positions, the percentage of women working in this category reached 16.6% of the total female leaders in the country, while Emirati women constitute 53.9% of citizens working in leadership positions in the private sector.
Statistics indicated that Emirati women constitute 71% of the total citizens working in technical and specialized professions, and that 97.3% of the total female citizens working in the private sector belong to the category of skilled women, while Emirati women constitute 71% of the total skilled citizens in the private sector.
