National events illuminate Fujairah on the 54th Union Day and highlight the deep heritage and spirit of belonging
Fujairah, 28 November / WAM / On the occasion of the 54th Union Day, the Fujairah Celebrations Committee organized various activities and programs for various regions of the emirate, in a scene that embodies the meanings of unity and pride in national achievements, where the streets are decorated with flags, and national anthems echo around, so that citizens and visitors gather in an atmosphere that reflects the love of the homeland and the unity of its people, and highlights the values of community cohesion that characterize the UAE’s Union Day celebrations year after year.
The Art House in Fujairah hosted the main event of the 54th Union Day celebrations in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, and organized by the Fujairah Culture and Media Authority, amid a large audience attending from various regions of the emirate in a national atmosphere that celebrated the spirit of the union and the heritage of the Emirates.
The celebrations kicked off with a remarkable presence of folklore arts, as the Al-Yawla Al-Harbiyya Band presented popular performances with its harmonious performance that carried the symbolism of strength and belonging, while the Al-Wayliyah “Al-Dan” band added an authentic flavor through its melodious rhythms that brought back to memory the fragrance of the past in the arts of the East Coast.
The festive program included an elegant operetta entitled “Fujairah, Between the Fragrance of the Mountains and the Glory of the Seas,” presented by school students, in an artistic painting that embodied the Union’s journey and the path of giving in harmony between the mountainous and marine environment. Poets also participated with patriotic poems that expressed pride in the leadership and the Union’s achievements, while the Fujairah Philharmonic Orchestra participated with patriotic pieces that combined Emirati identity and the spirit of international music to form an exceptional moment amid great interaction from the audience.
As for the village area, it witnessed a national celebration in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, which was held next to the heritage village castle. The program included a variety of activities and events that highlighted the most important aspects of the cultural and heritage life of the UAE. The events included school performances, performances by military singing bands and the Al Nahma Marine Band, and handicraft displays in the heritage village, in addition to poetry sessions and various musical and heritage performances that reflected the richness of Emirati culture. Its diversity, and embodied the spirit of unity, belonging and loyalty to the homeland.
While the Thuban area witnessed the attendance of Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi and the people of the region for the national celebrations at the Thuban Stadium, many distinctive heritage events and activities were reviewed. These activities included the military parade and the national march, while schools participated in traditional dances that reflect the spirit of unity and national pride among the Emirati people, and enhance awareness of the cultural heritage and values held by the Emirati people. In addition, the events included performances by popular bands and heritage and craft exhibitions displaying local heritage products.
As for the Al Haniyah area in the Emirate of Fujairah, it held national celebrations in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi at Al Haniya Stadium, where it presented a diverse program that included a series of activities that highlighted aspects of Emirati culture and heritage. The celebration included school performances by students, in addition to an exhibition of productive families, and poetry sessions that revived the local literary heritage. The program also included musical and heritage performances presented by various military bands that embodied the authenticity of the Emirati heritage. And its richness, and expressed the aesthetics of the lyrical and musical heritage, reflecting the deep national spirit and deep-rooted belonging in the souls of the people of the Emirates.
As for the Al-Hala Community Council, it witnessed a festive atmosphere in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi, which reflected the spirit of the national occasion. It included a diverse program that included cultural and heritage performances highlighting the features of the authentic Emirati identity, a military parade, and school performances presented by the students, with a group of popular bands that presented traditional musical performances, including the art of Azi and popular songs that embody the richness of Emirati heritage and tell stories of pride and belonging. The event also included crafts. Handicrafts displayed by the heritage village accompanying the event.
The celebration program at the celebrations site in Al-Tawiyin, in the presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamad bin Saif Al Sharqi and the people of the region, included a variety of events that attracted the public, including musical performances by popular bands, a show by communities residing in the country, a national march in which the people of the region participated and accompanying military displays. It also included a heritage village and an exhibition of productive families.
The celebration program in Mohammed bin Zayed City included a military parade and folk arts with the participation of military bands, and various heritage performances, including an ancient wedding segment, a competition for the best traditional costume, and poetry segments expressing love for the homeland, loyalty to its leaders, and pride in the Union’s achievements.
These celebrations embodied the meanings of loyalty and belonging, amid lively scenes that reflected the spirit of unity and pride in this precious national occasion.
