Tomorrow, Sakik begins his campaign in the Royal Algarve Classic golf tournament
Dubai, 1st December / WAM / Ahmed Sakik, captain of our national golf team, will begin his second participation in the new season of the MENA Golf Tour, tomorrow, Tuesday, in the “Roliar Algarve Classic” tournament, hosted by Portugal at the Akonor Stadium in the Amendoeira Resort, during the period from 2 to 4 December, with a 54-hole system.
“SKIK” represents the UAE among 87 players from 30 countries, in the second leg of the UAE professional tour, the only one officially approved by the World Golf Professionals Ranking (OWGR), which awards influential points in the international rankings and is a developmental gateway for players aspiring to reach the major tours.
Last week, “Skik” participated in the opening Aroeira Challenge tournament of the same season in Portugal, which was won by Italian Ludovico Addabbo.
Ahmed Skaik said after completing his training at the tournament stadium: “The stadium here is completely different from Aroeira. The lanes are wider and remind me a lot of the Dubai stadiums. Every trip I am keen to learn something new, whether the tournament is large or small, as learning is the main goal in the end.”
