Minister of Industry: 65% increase in the number of industrial establishments since the launch of the vision

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar Al-Kharif, said: Industrial facilities In 2016, there were about 7,200 factories, and today, in 2025, there are more than 12,000 industrial facilities, with investments exceeding 1.2 trillion riyals.

He indicated that this growth contributed to recording Non-oil exports Saudi Arabia reached a historic number in 2024, reaching 515 billion riyals, achieving a growth of 13% over the previous year and more than 113% since the launch of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which reflects the diversification of the national economy and confirms the competitiveness of Saudi products and industry.
The minister said: "Based on the Kingdom’s conviction that adopting the technologies of the fourth industrial revolution is a major path to enhancing the competitiveness of Saudi industry, the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources launched the Center for Industrialization and Advanced Production to be a comprehensive umbrella for all programs and initiatives that enable industrial transformation in the Kingdom, including the Future Factories Program, which aims to accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies, consolidate operational excellence, and raise production efficiency in national industries."
He added: "The program targets more than 4,000 factories to be smart factories that rely on automation and modern technologies. We also launched the Industrial Beacons Program to enable pioneering factories to join the network of reference factories of the World Economic Forum, with the aim of having 14 Saudi factories in the Kingdom with the status of global industrial beacons by 2030.
He continued: "In addition, the Ministry has supported many research projects through the Innovative Factories Grant Initiative in order to enable factories to raise the level of technical maturity of products, as projects move from the level of readiness at the third and fourth levels to the level of readiness and maturity to the seventh level, which facilitates the acquisition of new industrial products that are more ready and competitive in local and global markets."
He added: "Riyadh’s hosting of this global event represents an affirmation of the Kingdom’s expanding position in the international industrial scene and a consolidation of its pivotal role as a primary driver of industrial transformation around the world. It also reflects the confidence of our international partners in our industrial and technical capabilities.".
