"Al Maktoum/a historical and sporting legacy" A national publication documenting the sporting career of the Al Maktoum family
DUBAI, 3rd December, 2018 (WAM) – Emirati journalist and sports historian, Mohammed Al-Joker, launches his latest documentary book, entitled “Al Maktoum / A Historical Sports Legacy – Champions in the Presence of the Knight,” which is the largest publication documenting the sports career of the Al Maktoum family through 282 pages full of rare photos and information, coinciding with the celebrations of the 54th Federation Day.
The book’s introduction features the title “Al Maktoum…men who made history,” as the author highlights the role of leadership in consolidating development and renaissance, beginning the chapters with the late founder Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, “may God rest his soul,” who touched hearts by challenging the impossible, and left immortal fingerprints in building modern Dubai.
The book includes rare historical photos, the most prominent of which is a snapshot of Sheikh Rashid with the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest their souls. The author also discusses a group of distinguished sporting achievements, including the construction of four clubs in Dubai that formed the pillar of sports development, in addition to the opening of Al Maktoum Stadium in 1978.
The Joker goes on to document the career of the members of the ruling family in Dubai and their unlimited support for sports and athletes, to present a valuable national work that coincides with the establishment of the Al Maktoum House and reflects the depth of the historical and sporting legacy of this honorable house.
A summary of the most prominent figures included in this national documentary release will be presented.
