In a joint statement: the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy are ready to lift some sanctions on Iran

The countries of the Big Four group, which includes the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy, welcomed the agreement reached between the United States and Iran on Sunday, expressing their readiness to lift some of the sanctions imposed on Iran, according to a joint statement.

“We stand ready to lift relevant sanctions in response to clear and verifiable steps by Iran regarding its nuclear program. We will work intensively with the United States, Iran, and regional partners to seize this moment, maintain momentum, and reach a long-term diplomatic settlement,” the statement said.

The statement stressed, “Iran must never possess a nuclear weapon. We are ready to work with the United States, Iran, and the International Atomic Energy Agency to achieve this goal.”
