The Italian and American foreign ministers discuss the situation in Ukraine and Gaza
Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Taiani held a phone call with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Wednesday, where they agreed to make joint efforts regarding Ukraine and Gaza.
Taiani said, in a post on his official account on the (X) platform, that Italy’s support for American mediation in Ukraine and in Gaza was affirmed in order to strengthen the truce and reconstruction through US President Donald Trump’s plan, pointing to the continuation of joint Italian-American efforts to bring about peace.
Taiani, according to the Italian news agency ANSA, referred to discussing the situation in Venezuela, with a special focus on the issue of the arrest of Alberto Trentini, who is detained in Venezuela, and other Italian political prisoners, stressing that Rome is working tirelessly to release these prisoners.
