The director’s vision is what makes the difference in my performance from one work to another

Star Zeina spoke about her experience working with a number of directors with whom she collaborated during her artistic career, noting that she does not hesitate to make any effort required of her in order to provide an excellent performance. She said:
“For me, any technical difficulty is over my head. If the director asks to repeat the scene hundreds of times, I am at his command, and I do anything that serves art and mastery, except for the beating, of course! If the beating is professional, then there is no problem.”

Zeina confirmed that she relies heavily on the director’s vision and directions, explaining:
“By nature, I like to benefit from the director, hear his direction, and have him determine the path of the character for me. That is why you see me different from one work to another, because I work according to his vision: How does he want me here? How does he present my character there? If the matter was left to me completely, I might do inappropriate things. I am a human being, and the presence of the director is important to control all the details.”

She talked about her cooperation with director Hani Khalifa, saying:
“I enjoyed working with him very much, even though some people told me he was difficult. But I never saw that. I saw a person who devoted his life to work, who would exert himself to the utmost to produce the best work. His most important tool is the actor, and this is greatly appreciated. I remember him telling me that some people asked: How will he work with Zeina? It is as if Zeina is attacking people!”

As for director Mohamed Amin, she confirmed that he occupies a special place for her, saying:
“Professor Mohamed Amin is an angel to me. When he directs me, he does so calmly and respectfully. He is a sensitive, artistic, and polite person, and his makeup is different. Working with him is fun every moment. I participated in two films with him and those were some of the most beautiful periods of my life. I used to go to filming with positive fear… I fear that I will not achieve what he wants, or that I will make a mistake, or that I will not deliver the performance he envisions.”

Regarding the reputation conveyed to directors, she said:
“I don’t know the reason for it. Maybe it’s because some people don’t want me to achieve progress or success. This happens a lot. Sometimes it’s out of fear of Zeina’s success with a big director, so they say: Oh Black Day, you’ll succeed with Hani Khalifa! And why?”

At the conclusion of her speech, she stressed that she cannot engage in such actions, stressing:
“I have never called a director and said to him: How do you work with so-and-so? This is not right. But unfortunately, it happens to me a lot, while I cannot do it.” (seventh day)
