Sharjah Police achieves a long-awaited meeting between a mother and her son after 12 years of separation

The Sharjah Police General Command, represented by the Community Prevention and Protection Department, was able to bring together a mother and her son after a separation that lasted more than 12 years as a result of complex family disputes that led to a complete cessation of communication between them.
The details of the case go back to the mother’s recent arrival in the country after long years of suffering that began with the birth of her child. She lived in turbulent family circumstances that deprived her of seeing him. The difficulties worsened after her separation from her husband and the loss of her source of income, which forced her to leave the country in 2013, beginning a long period of suffering to reach her son and find out his living, health and educational situation. After being stranded, she was able to come to the country and search again for her son. She went to Sharjah Police in search of any information that might restore her hope.
Based on its humanitarian duty, the Department of Community Prevention and Protection initiated careful and rapid searches across the relevant systems and authorities, through a specialized team of social workers, where the whereabouts of the young man and his living conditions were verified. After intense efforts and in record time, the team was able to reach him and begin coordinating to prepare the expected meeting that took place after more than 12 years of separation, in a touching scene that embodies the profound humanitarian role played by Sharjah Police in protecting the family and ensuring the rights of the child.
Director of the Community Prevention and Protection Department, Brigadier General Ahmed Al Marri, confirmed that this humanitarian achievement reflects the approach of the Sharjah Police General Command derived from the visions of the wise leadership in promoting family stability and providing social support to all members of society, praising the efforts of the specialized teams and their vital role in addressing sensitive issues that affect the human dimension of the family. He added that the ability to end human suffering and rebuild hope is the greatest thing that an institution working to serve the community can offer, stressing the commitment of Sharjah Police to continue its efforts to promote the values of compassion and community cohesion.
