I considered Scouting Association Saudi Arabia International Volunteer Day is a humanitarian station to restore the spirit of giving and honor values, stressing that volunteer work is not a passing seasonal activity, but rather a culture of life and a work methodology that contributes to sustainable development, coinciding with the global movement in which more than 57 million Scouts participate to serve their communities.

The Vice President of the Association, Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Mudayres, stressed that celebrating this day goes beyond the protocol honoring volunteers to reach a celebration

He cited the ancient history of the Scouting movement, which was launched in 1907 AD as one of the most important global incubators for public service concepts, as it today includes a huge system of Scouts spread across 176 countries, all working under the umbrella of a unified slogan, “Service for Others.”

He pointed out that the Saudi Scouts presented an inspiring national model in the field of volunteering, which was clearly demonstrated in serving guests. Rahman and environmental and community initiatives, which is a practical translation of supporting the wise leadership of this vital sector as it is a fundamental pillar of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 to enhance national cohesion.

The Message of Tolerance and Dialogue

He highlighted the global Saudi role in this field through the “Messengers of Peace” initiative, which was launched from the Kingdom to travel the continents of the world, carrying the message of tolerance and dialogue, and enabling young people to create quality initiatives that serve their communities and support sustainable development goals.

He explained that The Scout curriculum based on “learning by doing” succeeded in transforming volunteering into daily behavior among young people, based on the principles of duty towards God, others and oneself, to build personalities capable of giving and transforming individual initiatives into a tangible collective impact.

The association concluded its speech by emphasizing that volunteering represents a school for creating leaders and building bridges of societal trust, renewing its commitment to remain a beacon of societal responsibility and a true laboratory for producing positive behavior that serves the nation and humanity.
