The Competition Authority launches an awareness campaign to combat collusion in competitions

Launched by the General Authority for Competition "Competition Authority"A new awareness campaign to combat collusion in competitions and procurement.
Campaign Objectives
The campaign aims to introduce the concept of collusion and its dangers to markets, government agencies, and consumers, in addition to raising awareness of ways to avoid it and promoting the principles of transparency and integrity in submitting bids.
The campaign focuses on the most prominent types of collusion that may occur between bidders, such as coordinating prices, dividing projects, or any practices that weaken competition, raise costs, and limit spending efficiency.

The CEO of the General Authority for Competition, Dr. Fahd bin Ibrahim Al-Shathri, said that awareness of the dangers of collusion represents a priority for the Authority, because of its direct impact on fairness in competition and the protection of public money.
He stressed that the Authority is working to enhance awareness of the necessity of submitting independent offers free of any prior understandings or coordination between competitors, in order to ensure a fair competitive environment that preserves the rights of all parties.
He added: "Through this campaign, we seek to strengthen the role of each party in discovering any indicators of collusion and reporting them through designated channels, to prevent any practices that undermine the integrity of competitions."
The General Authority for Competition called on all entities and suppliers to benefit from the awareness campaign materials and adhere to the requirements of fair competition, in a way that contributes to promoting fair competition and achieving the best results for public funds.
