Palestine and Syria qualify for the quarter-finals, and Tunisia and Qatar bid farewell to the Arab Cup

The teams of Syria and Palestine qualified for the quarter-finals of the Arab Football Cup with a goalless draw in the final round of the first group on Sunday, while the Tunisian and Qatari teams were eliminated from the first round despite the “Eagles of Carthage”’s 3-0 victory.

With this result, the two teams are equal with five points each, although the lead goes to the Palestine team by the difference in goals scored during their campaign in the group stage, given that the match ended in a goalless draw and they were equal in goal difference overall.

In the opening match, Palestine won 1-0 over Qatar before drawing 2-2 with Tunisia in the last round. As for Syria, it won 1-0 over Tunisia before drawing 1-1 with Qatar.

Tunisia ranked third with four points after its 3-0 victory over Qatar, the organizing country, which is at the bottom of the standings with one point.
