The Ministry of Education stressed the importance of School discipline as the cornerstone of building a successful and sustainable educational environment.

She stressed that its achievement depends on the integration of roles between school employees and parents, which contributes to the development of a balanced and responsible personality among students, within the procedural plan to enhance school discipline for the academic year 1446 AH, which was prepared by the General Administration of Student Guidance in support of schools and in this field.

School discipline is a pillar

The plan emphasized that school discipline represents a pivotal pillar in the success of the educational process, as it aims to support schools in enhancing discipline among students throughout the school year, and includes all general education schools, by spreading the culture of school discipline among school employees and parents, promoting positive behavior and the values of discipline among students, in addition to strengthening communication between the school and the family, and enabling the school to implement follow-up and evaluation procedures for student discipline.

At the level of education departments, the plan stipulates the formation of a school discipline committee headed by a principal. Education and the head of the Student Guidance Department as rapporteur, with the preparation of a discipline plan at the level of the Education Department that includes the roles and responsibilities of the relevant departments, including student guidance, educational supervision, student activity, internal audit, and institutional communication, with direct supervision of the follow-up of the implementation of the plan.

Monitoring absence in schools

The plan stressed continuing to monitor absence in schools on a daily and weekly basis through the Noor system, especially in the weeks before exams or vacations, in addition to identifying schools that face problems with student discipline according to indicators of high absenteeism, repeated absences, and limited application of procedures, and visiting improvement and development teams to these schools during the period of building support and assistance plans to diagnose the level of school discipline in them.

The plan also included supporting schools that face problems with student discipline by building corrective treatment plans aimed at raising the level of discipline. School, in addition to building strengthening and sustainability plans for schools that have shown excellence in student attendance with the aim of sustaining school discipline, and evaluating the impact of the plans presented to schools and providing feedback through the attendance and absence indicator in the Noor system each semester, along with preparing quarterly reports to be submitted to the General Administration of Student Guidance on the efforts that have been made to enhance school discipline and their impact on student attendance.

At the school level, the plan stressed the importance of investing school committees and councils in strengthening school discipline, and disseminating rules of behavior and attendance. So that the rules are clear and announced among school employees, students, and parents, in addition to enhancing understanding by organizing introductory meetings for students and parents to explain the rules and expectations and the mechanism for adhering to them.

It also stipulates the application of the rules of conduct and attendance to students who are absent and frequent Morning tardinessIntegration with the program to promote positive values ​​and behavior, and implementing student guidance programs that enhance values, positive behavior, and psychological and social skills, in addition to activating school activities that motivate and attract students, and intensifying them in the weeks before exams or school vacations.

Psychological and educational support

The plan included providing psychological and educational support to students who face challenges or difficulties through the care program or related programs, following up on cases of students who are repeatedly absent and late in the morning, and taking the necessary corrective measures.

Within the framework of strengthening communication between the school and the family, the plan emphasized activating the general framework to strengthen the relationship between them, inviting parents during the week of the return of educational staff, emphasizing the role of the family in promoting positive values and behavior among children, and providing them with a weekly learning plan and activity plan. And events, in addition to sending motivational messages to parents that emphasize the importance of daily attendance and perseverance, while investing in approved digital platforms.

It also included following up on the parent and student’s electronic signature on school commitment and reviewing the rules of behavior and perseverance, following up on the distribution and application of the study plan from the first day of school, and monitoring the absence and attendance of students on a daily basis and including it in Noor System, and following up and evaluating student absences and ensuring that the regulations governing that are implemented.

The plan stressed the importance of periodically evaluating the effectiveness of school discipline procedures, amending procedures to enhance the effectiveness of the plan, and preparing the necessary reports, in addition to activating preventive programs to limit the spread of behavioral problems among students.

The plan concluded by emphasizing a number of supporting documents, namely the program for promoting positive behavior, the rules of conduct and attendance, and the framework for strengthening the relationship between the family and the school, as basic foundations. It contributes to achieving the plan’s objectives and raising the level of school discipline in general education schools.
