Sharjah Airport adds flights "Winner" To his network

Sharjah, 8 December / WAM / The Sharjah International Airport Authority announced that Caspian Airlines has joined its operational network via scheduled flights linking Sharjah to five major cities in Iran, in a step that enhances travel and tourism between the UAE and the Islamic Republic of Iran, thus expanding the airport’s network of international destinations.

Caspian Airlines will begin operating its flights starting today via Boeing 737-500 aircraft with a capacity of 120 passengers. Operations include 7 weekly flights from Tehran, 3 from Lamerd, and 2 flights from Qeshm, in addition to one flight from Shiraz and another from Bandar Abbas.

His Excellency Ali Salem Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah International Airport Authority, confirmed his welcome to Caspian Air joining the airport network, as this step enhances tourism and cultural exchange and supports the experience of travelers between the UAE and the Islamic Republic of Iran, thus consolidating Sharjah’s position on the regional and international travel map.

He added that the new destinations linking Sharjah to a number of major cities in Iran contribute to strengthening Sharjah Airport’s position as a regional hub in the aviation sector through reliable and efficient operations that meet the needs of various categories of travelers. The Sharjah International Airport Authority, in cooperation with its airline partners, works to expand travel options and provide higher levels of comfort and ease of access for all travelers.

For his part, Adel Nour Ali, CEO of Caspian Airlines, said that operating these flights represents an important milestone in the company’s journey to expand its operational network and provides wider connectivity options for travelers, thus enhancing the ease of travel and air movement between the two sides.

During the third quarter of 2025, Sharjah Airport witnessed remarkable operational growth, as the number of passengers increased to 5,127,120 passengers, an increase of 16.7% compared to 4.39 million passengers during the same period in 2024.

Aircraft movement also increased to 30,737 flights, a growth of 10.7%, compared to 27,758 flights in the third quarter of last year, which strengthens Sharjah Airport’s position as one of the most prominent travel centers at the local and international levels.
