Abdulaziz bin Humaid: The Asian arm wrestling competitions in Ajman reflect confidence in the emirate’s organizational capabilities

Ajman, 9 December / WAM / Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, said today that Ajman’s hosting of the Asian Cup Open Arm Wrestling Championship competitions reflects the confidence of international federations in the emirate’s organizational capabilities, and embodies the quality of its sports structure. He praised the high level of competitions and professional organization. He also praised the facilities provided to the participating teams and the public, and the distinguished efforts of the organizing committees, which contributed to the success of the tournament and the presentation of an exceptional edition. Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi took part in the tournament held under the auspices of the department, and organized by the Asian Armwrestling Federation, in cooperation with the Emirates Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation at the Ajman Youth Center.

Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi said that Ajman is committed to continuing to attract and host international tournaments, which combine competitiveness and community spirit, which contributes to revitalizing tourism and enhances the emirate’s leading position on the regional and international sports scene.

He added, “We are pleased to host the Asian Cup Open Arm Wrestling Championship, which represents an important station in the emirate’s events agenda and a prominent event in our journey to support the tourism sector and consolidate Ajman’s position as a leading destination for sporting events locally and globally. From this standpoint, we affirm our permanent commitment to attracting specific tournaments, pioneering activities and innovative events.”

Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, in the presence of Asen Harjitodorov, President of the International Armwrestling Federation, crowned the winners in the Junior, Senior and People of Determination categories.

For his part, His Excellency Mahmoud Khalil Al Hashemi, Director General of the Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, said: “We are keen to adopt the highest regulatory standards to create a pioneering environment capable of hosting various international events and events. We also constantly seek to establish new strategic partnerships that contribute to supporting these efforts and achieving our goals, and organizing the Asian Open Arm Wrestling Championship is an embodiment of this message, and an affirmation of the growing momentum achieved by Ajman as a preferred international destination for hosting global championships and competitions. And an integrated tourism system capable of embracing it efficiently and successfully, which will enhance the tourism sector in the emirate, support its future vision, and consolidate its distinguished position on the global tourism map.”

This year’s tournament witnesses wide participation from more than 200 players representing 25 countries.
