"Islamic affairs" The Office of Artificial Intelligence launches the first artificial intelligence workshops for workers in legal discourse

DUBAI, March 11, 2018 (WAM) – The General Authority for Islamic Affairs, Endowments and Zakat, in cooperation with the Office of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications in the UAE government, launched the first specialized training workshops in artificial intelligence directed at those working in legal discourse, as part of a strategic national initiative launched in partnership with major global leading technology companies in this field, with the aim of qualifying more than 5,000 imams, preachers, muftis, and preachers, in line with the objectives of the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031. It enhances the integration of roles between religious institutions and those concerned with creating the digital future.

The workshop, in which more than 600 participants participated in person and virtually, aimed to enable participants to become familiar with the scientific foundations and applied concepts of artificial intelligence technologies, and to establish the principles of responsible and ethical use of them, in addition to anticipating the opportunities and challenges associated with employing them within the scope of their work, as an embodiment of the UAE’s proactive government approach in accelerating the adoption of smart solutions, enhancing the readiness of national cadres, and building an integrated knowledge system that keeps pace with technical transformations. Accelerated development within qualitative and sustainable training programs for those working in legal discourse.

The workshop focused on introducing participants to the most prominent artificial intelligence technologies provided by Microsoft, and reviewing their practical applications in the work environment, highlighting advanced tools such as Microsoft Pilot, and explaining the mechanisms for employing them in preparing content, supporting research and analysis, and organizing information, which contributes to developing the quality of religious discourse.

The workshop was organized at the headquarters of Mohammed bin Zayed University for the Humanities, as part of cooperation and integration between government and academic institutions in supporting the process of digital transformation, enhancing institutional readiness to employ artificial intelligence technologies to serve society, and establishing a culture of innovation in the government work environment.
